FAQs

Should I try Pole Fitness/Dancing...I have no upper body strength?

Yes! Pole Fitness/Dancing is for ANYONE and EVERYONE!  We welcome all shapes and sizes regardless of dance background, ability or strength and all fitness levels are welcome.

What can I expect when I take a class?

Classes begin with a cardio warm-up and stretching, followed by some light conditioning exercises.  The bulk of the class is spent learning tricks, spins, combos or choreography.

How old do I have to be to sign up for classes?

You must be 18 years of age or older. Photo identification is required for all first time customers.

Is there Nudity?

We have a strict NO NUDITY policy.

Will Pole Dancing be too hard for me?

No, but it will be challenging!  With pole dancing, everybody starts from scratch.  Regardless of fitness level, everyone has to learn to train their muscles specifically for pole dancing.   Our Pole Foundations and Intermediate Pole classes are designed to teach you proper techniques in a safe, controlled, yet challenging environment.

Will I fall on my head?

Our Pole Foundations Beginner Class does not incorporate any inverted moves (upside down on the Pole). Our instructors are highly trained to teach you in the safest, most professional manner possible. You will never be asked to do any moves or tricks that you and your instructor may think you are not physically or mentally prepared to handle. We also have safety mats available for use to provide you an additional layer of protection and comfort.

What should I wear?

Your skin making contact with the pole is what helps give you the grip to perform many of the spins and tricks.

  • For beginner classes: form-fitting top that exposes the skin on your arms to your shoulders, sports bra, form fitting shorts that expose the skin on your legs from your knees down.

  • More advanced classes: (requires more skin to be exposed to perform advanced tricks).  Pole or Yoga shorts, sports bra, bare feet or Pleaser Shoes/Boots.

  • All Levels: NO oils, lotions or moisturizers. Slippery hands and legs can impede pole gripping and can create a safety concern.

  • We suggest you also remove all jewelry, as this is to protect both our poles and your jewelry.

*Please note, we do not allow nudity, any clothing which exposes private parts, G-Strings, or thongs and everyone's chest area must be properly covered at all times.

What will I learn in class?

You will learn various moves and routines on the floor and on the pole. Classes are designed to be progressive, so we encourage regular attendance.  All moves are designed to combine strength conditioning, cardio and sensual movement. You will learn strong and sexy moves. As with many forms of dance, your style is completely unique. As long as you are being safe, there is no right or wrong way to move to the music!  All classes are judgement-free environments.

I’ve never taken a pole dancing class before.  Which class should I take first?

Our Pole Foundations classes are perfect for newcomers with little or no previous pole dancing experience.  In those classes, we work from the ground up and help you build confidence on and around the pole.

How long do I have to take Pole Foundations before I can move onto other pole classes?

You should feel that you have mastered the moves and techniques you are taught in Pole Foundations before attempting to move onto more advanced skill leveled classes.  Each person’s experience will be unique and the learning curve is based upon individual desire, commitment, and fitness level. If you are unsure if you are ready to move onto a higher level class, please ask your instructor for an evaluation.

How fit do I have to be to feel comfortable in a class?

Our Pole Foundations class is designed for all fitness levels. Like other fitness classes, we do not expect that you “get in shape” before taking our pole classes. These classes are meant to bring you to the physical level you are looking to achieve by combining strength and flexibility training together.

What type of poles do you use?

We use Platinum Stages brand poles that are spaced 7 feet apart each.

Do I need to own a pole to take a pole class?

No, you do not need to own a pole. We provide poles in the classes and offer Practice Pole as an option for those who don’t own their own pole; however you may want to purchase a pole of your own if you want to work on things you’ve learned, while at home.  We have Platinum Stages and X-Pole brand poles available for purchase through the studio. Inquire today!

What are the class sizes? Will I have my own pole?

All Pole classes max out at 10 students. We currently have 5 Platinum Stages poles in our studio, and we limit 2 students per pole.  This will give you the opportunity to take breaks between movements. Most pole enthusiasts take intervals of rest after 10 minutes on the pole. You’ll welcome the break!

Do you allow walk-ins, or is it by reservation only?

We do allow walk-ins, as long as there is space in the class when you arrive.  If you do not want to take the chance of the class being full, make a reservation through our website, the Zen Planner app, or give us a call and we will get you all set up.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

All memberships, class credits and drop-in class payments are non-refundable. We do offer class credits that can be used within 30 days from the date of issue.  Our scheduling system allows you to cancel a class up to 6 hours before the class starts, without forfeiting that class. If you cancel within 6 hours of the class starting, you will forfeit that class and a refund or credit will not be issued.

Do you offer a waitlist?

Yes.  When classes are full, you can sign up to be on the waitlist.  When signing up for the waitlist, please expect to come take the class and be ready to come to the studio.  If you are not sure you will be able to make it with a short notice, please remove yourself from the waitlist to avoid being charged for class in case you are added to class.

If another student signs out within the 6 hour cancellation period, you will receive an automatic email, phone or text message letting you know you have been added into class and are no longer on the waitlist.  If you are added into class, you will be held to the same cancellation policy as any other class you sign up for.

* Please make sure you have a valid phone number and email so we can easily contact you.
